The word "God" comes from the Proto-Germanic word "Guthan" which means ´to call` or to ´to invoke`. Prior before Christianity was given to the Germanic people, they uses this word "Guthan" to invoke their own deity during their spiritual ritual.
This entity or deity is neuter gender because the Germanic language has masculine, feminine and neuter gender classification and deity or supreme being were considered.
After the introduction of Christianity they used this word "Guthan" to refer to the supreme deity introduced to them and because the Christianity was a Patriarchal religion, the deity was considered a Masculine deity.
The earliest writings of the word "God" appears in the 4th Century Gothic translation of the Hebrew bible.
So what´s God´s name?
There is no where in the scripture that God introduced himself as God. According to Exodus 3:14 when Moses asked who will I say sent me? The reply he received was "I am that I am".
When you read through the old testament, you will see God was called several names these is because of the way He had personal relationship with them base or their tribe, place, time, event, or situations they are going through. Base on the hundreds of God´s name, we can conclude that "I am that I am" means "I am who you say I am".
What will you call the Creator?
If you were not given any specific label i.e "God" just like in the ancient time prior before religion. What will you call your Creator? Don´t limit who the creator is with 3 letters, because there is more to what our human brain can understand or interpret.
So who is the Creator to you?
